The Elena M. Sliepcevich Papers, donated by her family, served as the inaugural Collection for the Elena M. Sliepcevich Centre for Health Education Studies (EMS CHES) named in her honor at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. In 2008, Dr. Judy C. Drolet traveled to Norman, Oklahoma, with Dr. Elaine M. Vitello and Dr. Larry Townsend to obtain these Papers to create the Elena M. Sliepcevich Centre Collections at SIU's Morris Library Special Collections Research Center.
Prepared for researchers by EMS CHES Fellow Dr. Brandye D. Nobiling, the Sliepcevich Collection is complemented by Dr. C.E. Turner's Papers donated by the American School Health Association, Papers donated by the family of Dr. Paul D. Sarvela, and Dr. Drolet's own Papers. Elena M. Sliepcevich Centre Collections development and research are ongoing. Researchers and practitioners, students and historians may explore the rich history of Health Education and conduct data collection through these Collections.
